Jam Packed Year for Jordan Ones
No doubt, this year we’ve seen more Jordan One releases than ever before. Some releases were beyond great! Especially on a story telling and marketing perspective. Others, well…I’ll let you all be the judge of that. In this article we will go through some of the Best Jordan 1 releases of 2018. To keep things consistent we will only review the OG Jordan releases.
Jordan 1 Retro High “Gold Toes”
The Jordan 1 re-gained its hype with this release. The Gold Toe was a Complexcon exclusive – via Union LA. This shoes deserves its hype, featuring a beautiful patent later upper with keen hits of gold throughout the shoe. Personally one of my favorite release of the year. Would you agree?
Jordan 1 Retro High “Bred Toe”
Following the frenzy of the Gold Toe release. Nike hit us with another all new color way, Bred Toes. In my opinion this sneaker was a pass, but on the flip side I saw these kicks fly off shelves. This sneaker marked yet another successful release for the Jordan family.
Air Jordan Retro 1 “Shadow”
One of the most anticipated Jordan Brand releases of last year was the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Shadow. Last seen in 2013, this OG color way is a sneakerhead favorite. It was nice to see Jordan and Nike make so many of these pairs. Even on the resell market these sneakers were affordable.
This classic OG iteration of the Air Jordan 1 comes dressed in a Black leather upper with Medium Grey accents on the Swoosh, toe, ankle/heel, and the Nike Air branding on the tongue. A White midsole and Black rubber outsole complete the look.
Air Jordan Retro 1 “Homage to Home”
Extremely limited to only 2,300 pairs, and each pair is individually numbered.
In my opinion this sneaker should be in talks for…Sneaker of the Year.
And Another One…
Deconctrucited by Virgil, UNC’s get a major update. This shoe was straight up hot cakes out the oven. Kids were retweeting, reposting and pinning the shit out of this shoe.
You couldn’t open up instagram with out seeing this shoe pop up…and all ya homies liking the same picture!
On my bucket list fosho!
Sneaker of the Year??
Union x Air Jordan Retro High OG NRG
Capping off a great year for Jordan Ones was this collaboration Nike completed with Union LA. A streetwear and Menswear favorite boutiqie in Los Angeles.
A lot of people, blogs and websites criticized this sneaker due to its similar vibe to Virgil’s Off-White. I would agree to some degree, but to undermine the creativity and attention detail this shoes possess will not be tolerated round me!
This sneaker set a wild fire off, no pun. Sneaker heads, hypebeasts and soccer mons of future hype best united to celebrate the release of this sneaker.
